About Me
My favorite drawing medium is the Graphite Pencil in its simplicity you can render a high degree of detail and interest with variations of light and darks. As challenges and interests arise I also render portraits in Pastels and currently have a facination with sculpture and working in 3D. During my career, I have learned a lot from other talented artist, with Dr. Marilyn Todd Daniels I learned the structure of the horse and started incorporating color into my art. When first starting out with portraits I learned from George Arensburg who gave me the inspiration to pursue the art field. I can remember in school on the margins of my homework horses, ponies unicorns and pegasus all prancing across my papers. In my later years when I got married, it allowed me time to pursue a more professional advancement in my drawing of the horse. More recently I have also incorporated all animals and people with a different approach to the medium. I still work for realism but add a bit of texture in the drawing with line contrast for interest. All four of my children have a facination with art from Jon and Rosa with Photography and Raina the 5 yr old with drawing and sculpting and the 2 yr old Owen with drawing on anything he can reach.
